Wines et al ;- Cave des Augustins; Good quality wines, locally in bulk and in bottle from Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux and the Oc. Also goodies to take home to friends; corkscrews, boxed wines, Cognacs and, of course, our local Pineau des Charentes..It is close to the Saint Savinien Hotel

Supermarket; - Intermarché on the Saintes road

Market; - stalls in and around the market hall on Saturday mornings and some Thursday evenings in summer

Picnic on the Ile de la Grenouillette or across the river under the avenue of plane trees beside it -(Quai de Port)

Swimming Pool with two flumes, outdoors across the Charente bridge and left before the canal. There's crazy golf hard by.

There is a Bar in the square in front of the market hall outside which there are tables and chairs. It is pleasant to sit in the sunshine, sip a biere and watch the world pass by. p.s " a half of draught beer" is a "demi ( half pint ) de pression", which is 25 cl. This region of Aquitaine was English for about 100 years.
